Educational Tours with Trusted Cambodia Tours (TCT)

lim.group.400x238One of TCT’s strengths is the Educational Tour. Since 2008, we’ve successfully organized many educational tours for students from several colleges and secondary schools. The groups were mixed nationalities – Europeans, Americans, Malaysians and Singaporeans. The tours are 05days/ 04nights, 08days/ 07nights, 10days/ 09nights, and 15days/14nights. Besides touring Angkor Wat, floating villages and Siem Reap, students plan their program particularly to help the poor community in rural Cambodia. Their community-improvement projects include: constructing water wells and small bridges, teaching English, computers, and hygiene, and building gardens for primary and secondary schools.  The projects also include repairing old schools, and building houses for the poor. Br welcome L's group, 500x402

The students are accommodated in a homestay with electricity and surrounded by a concrete wall. In the homestay there are fans, toilets, and showers, and hot and cold water.  Students will eat in local restaurants. However, some groups may choose to stay in the remote villages where there is no electricity, hot water or shower. They will sleep like local people, on simple mats protected by mosquito nets.  They’ll eat Khmer food cooked by our local cooks with clean and safe water. All utensils are sterilized by boiled water. This is to ascertain that our guests eat safe food. Therefore, there are two options for the homestay. One option is to stay in the village where the projects and activities take place.  The second option is to stay in another village which is about 15km from downtown Siem Reap and 15 km from project sites. Electricity is only guaranteed with the second homestay option.

At TCT, no matter where guests stay, they are assured of safety because our guards or policemen will standby all night. Project sites are located between 35 and 40km from Angkor Wat. The programs and projects are organized by Trusted Cambodia Tours in collaboration with an official registered non-profit organization called CAMDOC (www.camdocaid.org). CAMDOC and TCT have been working closely with concerned authorities towards the development of the community and have a strong connection to the local people. In the case of bigger projects, the commune chief and/or district governor will be on hand for the opening ceremony.
