Cambodia Hotel Accommodation
The best Cambodia hotels are in three cities: Siem Reap, Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville.
Phnom Penh (the capital), Siem Reap (the site of Angkor Wat), and Sihanoukville (Cambodia’s finest beach resort), are the most popular visitor destinations. They offer every type of accommodation from backpacker dorm rooms, to guesthouses, to mid-range hotels, to boutique hotels, and luxury five-star resorts. The ever-increasing number of hotels and guesthouses in these areas, offer a wide variety of accommodation to satisfy all tastes and budgets.
Small guesthouses in Cambodia are usually family run, and are clean and convenient. Most have friendly staff, and offer a range of services and facilities.
These budget guesthouses, especially in Siem Reap, run from $2 to $10 per night. Mid-range hotels with a/c, cable TV, and hot water are usually about $15 to $20 per night, but can be as high as $60 per night. Of course, high-end hotels can range anywhere from $100 a night and up.
In Siem Reap, the most convenient place to stay is in the Old Market and Sivatha Street areas. The town is relatively small, and most locations will be fairly convenient, especially in the Wat Bo, Taphul Village, and Wat Damnak areas. However, Siem Reap hotels out on the airport road, on the road to the Angkor temples, and those in the Phsar Leu area tend to be somewhat far from town.
Cambodia home-stays provide an opportunity to live with a rural farming family, and experience first-hand, the culture and traditions of the Cambodian people. Of course this is something you don’t get while staying in a hotel. Trusted Cambodia Tours offers several home-stay tour packages.
Wherever you travel in Cambodia, from the bustling cities to small towns, you should be able to find comfortable and safe lodging.
